As the excitement of the New Year has came and gone, we now look into the year 2026 and what it brings for us cattle feeders. The last couple of years have been a roller coaster of emotions for many in this industry and it is not for the faint of heart, that is for sure. BUT one thing remains a constant...the demand for beef will never waiver. The problem we now face is where will the beef come from? Trump tried to "intervene" and that didn't work out well in his favor after the backlash from the American cattle feeders were heard loud and clear. The fact of the matter is, cattle inventory is the lowest it has been since the 1950's and it is even harder now to rebuild the inventory we liquidated due to high input costs and financial constraints. While it will be a long road to rebuild it isn't out of the picture and we will continue to have the demand out there.
